Family Remedy For Simple, Noncomplicated Colds and Flu

This is my family remedy for colds and flu.  It works on the principle of making the nasal passages and lungs inhospitable for those viruses to take hold and thrive.  It works for us...it may or may not work for you, but since it is from food and a benign nasal solution..it cannot harm anyone.  There is also some scientific studies that do say that chicken noodle soup helps although no one knows how it does.  This remedy is best when it is taken at the first sign of a cold or flu.

Chicken Noodle Soup
Granulated Garlic or mince a clove of garlic very very fine

Mix 1/2 teaspoon garlic (less if you prefer) (or a clove of garlic, minced) into a bowl of piping hot Chicken Noodle soup.

Place the bowl of soup on the table and tilt your head low over it, so that you can breathe in the steam. Be careful not to burn yourself.  Do this until the soup is cool enough to eat.  Eat the soup and drink all the broth.

Eat this soup and garlic mixture at least two times a day.

Spray nostrils with saline nasal spray up to four times a day.

Continue the soup and spray until all your cold or flu symptoms are gone.

Drink plenty of fluids: water and juice are best..also ginger ale.

Get as much rest as you can.

That's all there is to it.  If you have a temperature and it continues to rise,  a sore throat that keeps getting worse or other symptoms such as respiratory distress....by all means, check with your doctor to see what else he would like you to do.
